Karissa Douglass Higgins
Karissa is a strategic communications specialist with J.O.S Solicitors, in our Consultancy for Business Services department. She has twenty years’ experience in stakeholder engagement, change communication and reputation management. Karissa moved to Galway from Australia in 2012 and now consults to organisations in the not-for-profit, private and public sectors.
She has worked internationally with leading private and public sector organisations and has a proven track record for lateral thinking, problem solving and astute strategic advice.
Karissa has a particular interest in employee engagement and change communication having led the engagement portfolio for one of Australia’s largest science bodies, a $400 million research organisation with widespread international impact, during a period of significant organisational change.
With direct crisis management experience in community and environmental impacts and natural disaster readiness, Karissa is well positioned to advise clients on crisis preparedness, messaging and strategies that mitigate reputational damage.
- Holds a primary bachelor degree in Public Relations and International Relations
- Holds postgraduate degrees in Management and Professional Communication.
She is a former President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (Q) and brings communication and management counsel to her membership of a number of not-for-profit boards.
Sinead is a strategic business and training coach with J.O.S Solicitors, in our Consultancy for Business Services department.
Sinead originally worked in industry, in front-line roles in Human Resources and Training functions. During this time she gained a vast amount of experience from Managing a Training & Development function of c550 employees to working through a business integration and merger.
From here Sinead went on to set up her own Training & Coaching business and worked a number of years in corporateas a Business Consultant, Trainer and Coach in both the private and public sector both nationally and internationally. During this time she provided a number of key training programs that offered businesses the opportunity to learn and develop new skills that set them apart from their competition. Giving them the leading edge that transformed their business performance.
Sinead has worked with both Business Owners and Managers to improve their performance and leaderships skills and hence increase their profitability and effectiveness. One of her key skills is her ability to identify habits and behaviours in others that may cause them problems and then assist them in turning that behaviour into one that is more productive and useful.
For the last number of years Sinead has built a significant International business that allows her to Coach and Mentor other potential leaders towards their success.
Holds a primary Honours degree in Applied Psychology from University College Cork, Post Graduate Diploma from Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business (UCD)
Certificate in Training & Development from both the Irish Management Institute and NUI Maynooth
Diploma in Life & Business Coaching
Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming and Time Line Therapy.
